Hypnosis is a powerful therapeutic tool, but it is often misunderstood due to misconceptions rooted in its history, media portrayals, and general skepticism.
You don’t lose control over your actions, and you cannot be made to do anything against your will or values. You remain in total control during hypnotherapy. Hypnosis is a state of heightened focus and relaxation where you remain fully aware of what’s happening.
It’s impossible to get stuck in hypnosis! If a hypnotherapist stops speaking
or you’re left alone, you’ll either return to a normal waking state or drift into natural sleep and wake up refreshed.
Although hypnosis involves deep relaxation, your mind is highly alert and focused during the process. It’s more like a meditative state than actual sleep.
You retain full control over what you say during hypnosis. You cannot be made to reveal information or share anything you don’t want to.
Hypnosis is a safe and natural process and is widely recognized as effective in a wide range of therapeutic applications.
Hypnosis cannot make you think or act against your morals, ethics, or beliefs. It’s a collaborative process where the hypnotherapist guides you, but you remain fully in control.
If you have questions about hypnotherapy, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Yes! Hypnosis was approved both by Medical and Psychological Associations in the 1950s and has been used by medical and mental health practitioners for more than 150 years. The effectiveness of hypnotherapy depends on the client’s openness and willingness to engage with the process.
The vast majority of people experience the relaxation effects of hypnosis and can realize its benefits. It is estimated that less than 10% of people have a high resistance or unwillingness and don’t report good results. Clients usually find that they will go deeper with each session as they become more comfortable.
We'll meet virtually on Zoom. I'll send you all of the details before we meet for your free consultation but you can visit the Sessions page for more information.
There are too many variables to guarantee results. Ethical practitioners will never promise results. Be cautious of anyone who claims hypnosis is a magical solution or guarantees a quick fix for complex problems.
